The Young At Heart Senior Center is blessed by having many volunteers of all ages who participate in the Center programs and activities. However, we never seem to have enough willing hands to do everything that we would like do.
Volunteers at Young At Heart
· Greet visitors
· Help at special events like holiday parties
· Lead support groups
· Provide clerical support
· Serve meals at our senior dining sites
· Create craft items for sale in the Center’s New craft shop -- making the dolls, baby clothes, aprons, sweaters, and holiday items
· Teach young people and older adults skills like how to crochet, knit, and create a wide range of their own special handiwork
· Offer companionship to their peers
· Offer educational programs – computer training, craft and hobby demonstrations, history presentations, and a wide range of other programs
· We welcome children, youth and non-senior adults to share enriching experiences with seniors
· Perform landscaping and grounds work
· Offer a wide range of other services based on their individual skills and interests
Young At Heart also encourages the volunteer support of working professionals, who advise and support staff in business management, marketing, development, and event planning, and support to participate in boards, committees,
and advisory groups.
The Center also welcomes groups of volunteers from corporations, civic groups, and other sources. Advance planning is necessary for us to take full advantage of group volunteers and we request that you contact us well in advance if a group wishes to contribute their time and effort to the Center.
