Young At Heart Gate Watchers
For a moment close your eyes and imagine everything
and everybody you loved gone.
Now imagine if you were a senior and had
nobody to turn to if you needed assistance.
Simple things become huge challenges to a
senior who needs some form of assistance.
This feeling of isolation can be very scary
if you don't know where to turn to for help.
The Gate Watchers program of Sweetwater County
is a community endeavor to locate and indentify
at risk seniors who may be in need of some assistance
in order to maintain his/her independence.
This program enables seniors to continue to
make their own choices while
remaining in their homes.
The Gate Watchers program is designed to
be completely confidential.
People do not always ask for assistance.
All seniors and disabled adults need to know we are
here to help in any way we can.
Nobody should ever feel isolated or alone.
Please think of Young At Heart if you need to reach a friend.

How to Make a Referral
The YAH Senior Center is a neutral agency.
There is information about a variety of
different programs available from many
agencies in the community.
Of the approximate 2,500 people over the
age of 60 in the community,
the Senior Center serves approximately 2,200.
We can easily call or go visit any one of these seniors.
Seniors do not always ask for help.
Once help is needed, they have to go
" searching "
for what help is available and from where!
This is why they should think of
Young-At-Heart Senior Citizens Center first.
You can reach the Center at (307) 352-6737.
Please contact Pam Stanley.
